Sheet Metal Formability
Analysis
Process:
• Input
Data from client:
•
3D model of the component in IGES format
•
Material of the component: for Eg:
P220 EZ 10/10
•
Instruction - "Any changes needed in the component profile
based on simulation, can be done"
•
Instructions advising that the following
are a part of end deliverables:
•
Optimum Blank-size
•
Draw punch surface in CATIA V5 format
•
Formability simulation of the component
• No.
of operations & draw stage (PROCESS FLOW) will be decided
• After
approval, the draw surfaces (die / punch surface) will be created
for Formability simulation.
• Simulation
will be carried out and required corrections in draw surface will
be done in line with the simulation results.
• After
the final simulation, the results will be reported through PPT accompanied
by .avi files of the various simulations
• BLANK
PROFILE will be developed. Blanking Dimensions shall also be provided
for each part.
• The
press force for draw operation will be a part of the final report.
• Based
on the simulation results, iterations shall be carried out thus
modifying the draw surface (die / punch surface)
in the Sheet-metal formability simulation tool environment
